Sometimes He Calms the Child

Breathe.

Calm, still.

Outside, a storm rages

but inside, the child

watches,

observes.

Rain whipping window,

Wind howling by.

A branch breaks somewhere.

She sits, legs crossed,

in the center of her room,

a gentle smile on her lips;

watching,

listening.

“Sometimes He calms the storm,

and some times,

He calms the child.”
